Pregnancy & Postnatal Support

Nurture Families works closely with pregnant women, providing support during pregnancy, birth and the first few weeks of life. Our doulas help:

- Develop healthy antenatal routines
- Prepare for pregnancy, labour and delivery
- Establish strong attachments between you and your baby

Once your baby is born, a transition from doula to home visitor helps your family continue to build a strong relationship with your child. Our practitioners will visit you at home or in the community, with continued support on early parenting to age two.

In addition to pregnancy support and home visits, Nurture Families provides the following supports to families:

- Parent-infant therapeutic help
- Parent-infant groups that support parent-infant attunement
- Postnatal support group
- Community events to socialise and interact with other children and parents

Our group support is for mothers and fathers, including a Dads support group.

We work with children from conception to age two, and their families. Women must be pregnant, and can be at any stage of pregnancy to join the pregnancy support programme.

Nurture Families empowers families with children, before birth and throughout their early years. Nurture Families' pregnancy support includes antenatal classes, through to support groups and meet ups.

We offer continued support when your baby arrives through our home visits by our experienced practitioners, and postnatal groups during those crucial early months.

We can also help parents source childcare and early education, including a visit to our forest school, Nurture Outdoor Kindergarten as well as the beautiful home nursery for 0 to 2 year olds, Nurture at Home.

Parent-Infant Relationship Team

Our parent-infant relationship team is at the heart of Nurture Families’ work. Launched in partnership with the Koala Tree, we are passionate about supporting parent-infant relationships. Together with the support of the Parent Infant Foundation, we have established our team in the community, working on-the-ground with families directly.

We offer specialised parent-infant relationship counselling, attachment-led infant massage classes and support groups.

Talking Therapy
Parent-infant talking therapy is a confidential, safe space for you and your baby. Your therapist will work with you in a gentle and sensitive way, guiding you through any difficult feelings and emotions you may be experiencing. Our work is always accepting of you and your individual circumstances.

Your therapist will work with you to ensure you have a space just for you and your baby, where you can express your frustrations, sadness, anxiety, anger - or whatever it is that's affecting your happiness. Working together, we can make a difference that will last a lifetime for your baby and you.

Atachment-led Infant Massage
We offer IAIM attachment-led infant massage classes, which provide an enjoyable opportunity to spend one-to-one time connecting with your baby through the warm interactions and gentle communication of positive nurturing touch.

Our classes are completely baby-led, showing you the value of asking permission, as well as the need to understand your baby’s unique cues and behavioural states. We gently guide you in observing and listening to your baby’s verbal and non-verbal communications so that you can respond respectively and effectively.

Parent-child Groups (0 to 2 years old)
Our parent-child groups are facilitated by our Early Childhood parent-infant therapist. Children get the opportunity to explore, play and interact for 90 minutes each week. The group stays consistent with the same children and parents, so families and children get to know each other and build friendships.

Quality Early Education and Care

Quality early education and care provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can play and learn. Our team work closely with families, empowering them with the resources needed to support their child’s learning. Our early years settings are based in Worcestsershire, providing early education and care for children aged 9 months to 5 years old.
