Pregnancy to Age Two
Nurture Families works closely with pregnant women, providing support during pregnancy, birth and the first few weeks of life. Our doulas help:
- Develop healthy antenatal routines
- Prepare for pregnancy, labour and delivery
- Establish strong attachments between you and your baby
Once your baby is born, a transition from doula to home visitor helps your family continue to build a strong relationship with your child. Our practitioners will visit you at home or in the community, with continued support on early parenting to age two.
- Ask the right questions - what do you need help with right now?
- Tune into your child's development and relationships
- Ensure that you are connected to resources and supports that you need
This foundation provides a safe and nurturing space for you and your child, with access to community resources throughout.
In addition to pregnancy support and home visits, Nurture Families provides the following supports to families:
- Parent-infant therapeutic help
- Parent-infant groups that support parent-infant attunement
- Postnatal support group
- Community events to socialise and interact with other children and parents
Our group support is for mothers and fathers, including a Dads support group.
We work with children from conception to age two, and their families. Women must be pregnant, and can be at any stage of pregnancy to join the pregnancy support programme.
Nurture Families empowers families with children, before birth and throughout their early years. Nurture Families' pregnancy support includes antenatal classes, through to support groups and meet ups.
We offer continued support when your baby arrives through our home visits by our experienced practitioners, and postnatal groups during those crucial early months.
“When we deny our stories, they define us. When we own our stories, we get to write a brave new ending.”
