About

Nurturing the Developing Nervous System: Advanced Training for Early Childhood Educators

Exploring how children's nervous systems develop and how you, in your role as an early educator, can foster development.

Dive into the fascinating world of early nervous system development with our innovative training. Designed for forward-thinking early educators, this course integrates neuroscience, practical strategies, and mindfulness techniques.

Please come in comfortable clothing for the practical portion of the session, which focuses on yoga and mindfulness to support co-regulation. Yoga mats will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have one. No previous yoga experience is required.

The Neurodevelopmental Journey

Led by a clinical psychologist and a certified yoga instructor, this comprehensive training offers:

  • Neurobiology of Early Development: Explore the intricate processes of neural growth, the emerging nervous system and organisation in the first years of life.
  • Stress and the Developing Brain: Examine how early experiences shape neural connections and stress response systems.
  • Developing insight your own nervous system states and compassionately considering the impact that different states can have on your work with children and young people.
  • Evidence-Based Interventions: Learn practical, neuroscience-informed strategies to support healthy nervous system development and guide you in supporting the regulation of your own nervous system.
  • Mindfulness and Yoga for Nervous System Regulation: Learn evidence-based mindfulness and yoga techniques adapted for young nervous systems. Our yoga instructor will take you through co-regulation strategies to support children's developing self-regulation abilities. In addition, you will consider ways you can support your own nervous system through self regulation.

Why This Training Is Essential

Recent advances in developmental neuroscience have revolutionised our understanding of early childhood. This training will empower you to:

  • Recognise and respond to behaviours through a neurodevelopmental lens.
  • Create environments that optimally support nervous system development and learning.
  • Apply neuroscience-informed strategies to enhance children's regulatory capacities.

Join us in this fascinating exploration of the emerging nervous system. Gain the knowledge and tools to profoundly impact young lives.
