Nurture Families is excited to announce that a grant has been awarded to our Growing Change programme to purchase a new mobile catering kiosk from Herefordshire Community Foundation. This grant will expand opportunities for women participating in our food and entrepreneurship training.
The grant, funded by Herefordshire Community Foundation, will enable the purchase of an adapted kiosk that can be transported easily to locations as well as being settled for a long term placement. Our training participants will be able to use the kiosk to take their newly acquired skills in food production and customer service directly to the community.
“The aim is for these kiosks to be a hands-on place to get practical training,” said Hannah Reeve, CEO of Nurture Families. “The kiosks are easily adapted for our participants needs, and will hopefully act as a launchpad for budding foodie entrepreneurs!”
Programme Lead, Jack McGlashan said, “This is real world experience in running a food business, from managing stock to engaging with customers. It’s a the first of many new developments no doubt.”
Growing Change CIC, a subsidiary of Nurture Families, is incredibly grateful to the funders, Herefordshire Community Foundation for their support in making this possible. The mobile kiosk will feature accessible storage and point of sale, a versatile setup allowing for the sale of various products including the programme’s signature ice lollies.
Sarah, a Growing Change participant said, “Everyone’s really excited about the kiosk. It's one thing to learn the theory, but to go full circle on making products to selling products is great.”
The mobile catering kiosk is set to be operational this summer, with its inaugural appearance planned for Gather in the Garden at NOK.
