Nurture Families, a community organisation supporting parent-infant relationships, has been awarded a multi-year grant from Children in Need to expand its services across Worcestershire and Herefordshire. The 3-year, £30,000 grant will allow Nurture Families to recruit an additional parent-infant therapist and reach hundreds more families in the region.

"We are thrilled that Children in Need recognises the importance of parent-infant bonding and has generously supported our work," said Hannah Reeve, Chief Executive of Nurture Families. "This funding will be truly transformative, allowing us to provide nurturing services and support to many more parents and young children when they need it most."

Nurture Families provides a range of programmes, including home visits, pregnancy and postnatal support, parent groups, counselling and talking therapy. Research shows that a strong attachment between parents and infants lays the foundation for children's future health, development, and relationships.

"The first years of a child's life are critical for brain development and emotional security," said Dr. Amy Woolston, Nurture Families' Clinical Lead. "With Children in Need's support, we will be able to reach families early and make a lasting difference."

The grant will help fund home visits and parent-child sessions in Worcestershire and Herefordshire. Nurture Families expects to serve an additional 300 families per year and partner with local providers to improve access to parent support services.
